From Cali, Colombia to London, this story goes back further than Donde Carlos itself. 🇨🇴✈️

Sonia and Carlos arrived in London in 1988, ready to build a new life here.

By 2000, Carlos was already serving food to the local community in Fulham. That journey later became Café Mambo, a family venture, before eventually leading to Donde Carlos opening its doors in 2008. 🍽️

Today, their children work alongside them, and what started all those years ago has grown into a true family business, rooted in Colombian food, culture and London’s Latino community. 🫶🏽

But there’s nobody better to tell you how it all began than the two people who lived it.

Meet Don Carlos and Doña Sonia. This is their story. 🎥🇨🇴

Before restaurants and modern menus, ingredients like yuca and pork were already staples of everyday life in Colombia. 🇨🇴

Yuca has been cultivated in South America since long before the Spanish arrived, while pork became part of Colombian cooking during the colonial period. Over time, the two found their place together in the country’s food traditions.

Crispy, simple and still loved today. Some combinations stick around for a reason. ❤️
